Julia Lawall has been a Senior Scientist at Paris Rocquencourt since 2011. She received her PhD from Indiana University in 1994. Her research interests are in the area of programming languages, empirical software engineering, and operating systems. Since 2005, she has been developing, with Gilles Muller, the Coccinelle program matching and transformation tool. She has contributed over 1000 patches to the Linux kernel based on the results of her research.
